Side by side comparison of both the Nissan GTR and the Corvette ZR1 at the Nürburgring (Nordschleife). These two videos were released by GM and Nissan as evidence of lap records, both starting a timer at different points on the track. To compare the laps, Garage419 has used a visual landmark to sync both videos; the pit-exit sign. true i don't really like American cars myself but chevy...i gotta hand it to them they have definetely done it with the Z06 and ZR1.VERY impressive and very reasonable priced compared to other supercars.

Even if the ZR1 were as slow as the GT-R, I'd still take it.I'd prefer a car with some heritage (I won't try explaining this word to you Nissan fags) that I can actually drive (instead of a computer doing the driving for me).

Better yet, get Schumacher to test both at the ring... the outcome of that, would shut everyone up!!

Good point about Jim Merlo! I still think Sabine Shmitz, should take both of these cars around the ring... Remember she is the Ring Queen, with 20,000+ laps under her belt.

You know whats funny here, 99.99% of the time these cars meet will be at a stop light. Now we all know who wins that fight, and it wont be close. The Z06 spanks the GT-R in the 1/4 mile, the ZR1 is much faster than the Z06!Also, when we start to see GT-R's on the streets with their real world tune and tires, it will show how the GT-R's engineers did a great job at the "ring" ;-)

The GTR has to be the worst sounding "Super Car" I have ever heard! Chevy picked one of there least experienced race car drivers in Jim Mero, he is a much more accomplished engineer than a race car driver! I would bet if they had used say Johnny O'connell (GT1 Vette driver) they would of cut at least another 3 seconds off the time! The GTR driver was very smooth without a lot of early turn in's or herky jerky moves on the wheel! unlike Mr Mero driving the ZR1 who did a terrible job.

To make a stupid remark like that, means you have never been around C5 or C6 corvettes!!Sure, alot of American cars are crap... but the vettes, not so.I am lucky to get to enjoy the C6 ZO6 on race tracks, and they are very very reliable, thats a fact!!

Sure why not! But, the ZR1 has 638hp 600trq and weighs 3300Ibs with the biggest brakes in the world. I'm going to bet that time is accurate.
