You definitely don't know many bands or artists then. Look into metal bands like Blind Guardian or Diablo Swing Orchestra. The former has a large range of sounds that I guess 99% of people wouldn't even pay enough attention to notice. The latter there blends different styles of music to form their avante garde. Unless you say "pull it off" you mean be excessively popular and known to the whole world.
