Scale Bell 222 radio control helicopter
This is my Bell 222 .30 size scale heli. I just finished it a few months ago. It's been flown several times and is very stable. The fuselage kit is Century/Funkey. It has retractable landing gear, full navigation lights, including a scratchbuilt landing light that lights up when the gear goes down, and turns off as the gear go up. I laid over 2500 rivets using a syringe and Elmers glue before painting. The rivets around the vents at the top are "stick on" flush rivets from Germany, as most of the details such as handles and antennas. The side windows were made with clear sheet styrene, and all glass was painted with a tinted smoke paint. The idea is for someone to tell that there is something inside but not be able to tell what it is.I searched for weeks leading up to painting to find a color scheme I liked. I pretty much knew that I wanted royal blue and white, and ended up designing my own scheme based around a 222 I saw for sale on Ebay. I used PPG base/clear. The mechanics are Kyosho Nexus with an OS 32 engine, Futaba 401 gyro w/9253 digital rudder control, Futaba radio, Helimax carbon fiber blades, and Zeal turnbuckle linkages ****For all those who want to see her fly, click "more from this helipilot27"****One more thing, if you want to fly it and have Realflight, I designed a version for you to enjoy, download it at: http://www.knifeedge.com/forum...

ah thas cool :), btw I have another question for you. I have the blade 400 right. im not sure if your familiar with its setup. but, I want to install retracts on it. NightFlyer told me to use channel 5 or 6. But then I have all the channels being used up. on the stock rx. So then I was thinking of using a Y harness and linking it maybe to something. not sure how to do it? any ideas? thank you.

The lights were actually pretty easy. Just go to ebay and search for led navigation lights. They are easy to install. You can also go to rc-lightsdotcom

hm i see i see, well basically what im going to do is. Just install the fuse, with retracts. heli is all set, i've done everything to it :) flies awesome. im very good at hovering blade cp pro and blade 400, as the heli gets bigger the easier it gets for me. I already own 3 blade 400's :) one will be a bell 222 another will be a jet ranger long style and the 3rd IDK yet lol.but yea see how u have those lights thas crazyyy i could never do that would take me hours n hours lol

This kit is a bit different from the ones for 400 helis. A bit of work and time are needed.

I learned on a LMH if you can find one they are bullet proof for a heli. Stay away from the Blade helicopters, I have trouble holding the CP in a hover. After you have the basics down try a nice 30 size collective pitch like a Raptor.

Nice helo, what RC helicopters do you recomend for beginners. I would like to get into this hobby but have never flown one and I'm short on cash. Plus I've heard that everyone crashes their first or second one. I don't want to spend a lot ot money on one just to crash it.
