In the world there are different beliefs and religions We can not criticise them! Please respect the religion of others! simply the Brazil is rich in diversity!

BTW, I'm Brazilian...just for the record. Are you?

Don't get me wrong, Brazil is a perfect place for an anthropologist. Things aren't as perfect and rational as they are in USA and Europe. Everything here is loosen and non-sense, we are people with no origin, with no aim, we just happen to live here. Our mind set is way more complex than segregated people tolerating one another. We are overlapped culturally.

3) Oxum is for Zeus as the others "spirits" are for the other lesser Greek gods. This whole ecumenic idea of an "universal god" is for people that still feel uncomfortable with African religions, so they can say: see how this is Christian too!4) I'm not judgmental, I love African culture, but when people try to mix it with Christian bulls*, it becomes hypocrisy. Oddly, Christians condemns these religions. Just look for some comments posted here...

1) Where do you live? Brazil or the place you live at? I thought people understood I was talking about Brazilian people, and certainly, when you talk about real people, it's not a bed of roses...2) I'm pretty much aware of Candomble and Umbanda. Although there are honest people that want to keep the origins of these African-based religions, most people here do try to make them fit into Christian mind set.

actualy you're wrong, candoble has 1 god, the same as cristians do and other religions too. It doesn't matter what name this god has.... I'm trying to tell you that orixas are no gods! You're misinformed. stop talking bad about others. Your comment about practicers and your knowledge of candoble is incorrect, James. Don't judge and talk about something that you don't know about, candomble isn't what your think.

Yeah I think the real christians or catholics (not the hypocrites) are a smaller group.

I think you're right. I think in most countries like USA religion is more hypocrite, they miss use God's name to justify all their actions. We're going to war but as long as it's in God's name it's alright. You know what I mean.
