Try to listen that LP, I'm very-verry serious, Zappa found the Brecker brothers somewhere in a studio and ask them for a tournee in '76. They played solos, my opinion: Randy played better at that moment .... The title of "song" Purple Lagoon, first solo plays Michael B., and last plays Randy B.

i love it!!! maybe cause it's different than medium register. it's a fresh change. i don't know how to explain it.

Ha, look him up with Joe Pass playing Donna Lee. He was damn good, that's it.

its just part of the postbop idiom. subtones wouldnt really go with the "different" sounds that trane and henderson had, and since brecker is a direct descendent of trane and henderson he did it to.

He usually used medium as far as I know.

Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Made his debut at 17 on a great Dexter Gordon recording and became and instant fixture in jazz.

just wondering whats the point of honking the low Bb's and making them sound bad? he does it, trane does it, hederson does it.

Mr. Niels Henning Örsted-Pedersen was the bassist. I just don't know, what is the reason of this music. My favorite Brecker-solo is on LP: Zappa in New York 1976. For me - an averege guy - from 80'-s Brecker more like a primadonna, not a team-worker in church of music. He is incredibly plays on his instrument ...... it's too complicate for me in english, sorry - ok. this is only my opinion, may I apologize all the Brecker-fans:) My secret: I'm an Archie Shepp-fan.
