I got my 30GB black 5G that Xmas, right after they came out. Still works great 3 years later. Lol, I forgot all about that cheesy-ass little carrying case. I threw it out like a week after I got the iPod and bought a rubber jacket for it instead. Too bad the firmware it shipped with had NO brightness control. Screen backlight ran cranked up all the time. 1 reason why battery life absolutely sucked for playing videos at first. You could just barely get through one 2-hour movie on a full charge.
