Doc's vocals were also great. If the date on this clip is accurate, he would have been 92 at the time. He was great to the very end, two years later. (Worst toupee in jazz history, though. I kinda suspect he wore it as a goof.)And it was a pleasure hearing Wynton playing along in style, not trying to overshadow or outdo the Old Man.

Oh man..this is amazing! Thanks for the post! Doc was increidble....many people don't know that he played many a great trumpet solos for Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz in the late 70s and 80s!
