The vocals ruin it. The rest of the song kicks ass though.

Yeah, I caught these guys when James Young was still free to rip it up and they were a prog band. Never heard of them doing this all time classic though...The verdict? Nicely done fellahs! Way to stay fresh and doing different sounds and chasing wild hairs! Bravo sir for posting this!

I am an absolute concert freak. I have seen the masters and the apprentices. When I saw Styx do this song, I was completely blown away. Gowen in more than a equal to DeYoung and I have seen them both. I saw Styx when they were Tradewinds. If that gives away my age..so be it but, they are still going strong unlike alot of burnouts & fadeaways...

your actually all wrong... the song is about a drawing lennon's son julian brought home about a girl in his class named lucy. this only references to drugs in the whole song is a couple of lines that lennon "experienced" when on an acid trip

No. No one ruins songs. They make it their own. If you don't like it, keep it to yourself.

I've taken a class on Music Listening and Literature and the teacher was the biggest Beatles fan I know.

I Am the Walrus is a 1967 song by The Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. Lennon composed the avantgarde song by combining three songs he had been working on. The walrus is a reference to the walrus in Lewis Carroll's The Walrus and the Carpenter from the book Through the Looking-Glass. The phrase "Goog goog ga joob" is a reference to Humpty Dumpty,as these were his last words.
