O Canada Scenery

Canada Flimstrip which was a powerpoint that a friend sent me and I thought it had great pictures indicative of the breadth of Canada and some stunning photos. I added some Canadian folk music from a Smithsonian collection which although strident is more in keeping with my experiences travelling around Canada from East Coast to West and the Arctic. Enjoy! The pictures are real though exceptional and so is the music. Some moments, very special, I have seen real images like this in this great country. This is potential archival material as it portrays a real sample of scenery that I can relate too as an expatriate - from the red soil of PEI to a farm in Saskatchewan.

"Celtic crap?" Celtic influence , or crap, as you put it, whether in music or invention or in nation building is a very large and indivisible element of why Canada exists and thrives. John A. MacDonald, Tommy Douglas, Hockey as a cultural totem, Alexander G. Bell, and on and on and on might have a distinct difference of opinion when it comes to the formation of this great country we call Canada, and the immeasurable contribution from those Scots mentioned above.

My big complaint about the utter ignorance of most of my fellow canadians it just that - ignorance of their own culture. Now i can't blame them becuase of the govert stuffing so called culture down our throats but that is no excuse to want to play Madonna or some Celtic crap - again with the Celtic crap. I hate it. Check out ward allen on youtube for cornhill videos which really capture good stuff bye and keep bitchin

I wish I had been around to comment earlier but now is OK. thx for the kudos and to those who are bitchin about the music - I'm sorry that you never heard this kinda music in Canada. no doubt because the American media blew it all away and you are sucking up crap from south of the border. Trudeau tried to prevent that and CBC tried too
