I thought it was quite clear that all those weak ass energy sources like hydro, wind and solar power are not going to work. Why do you think big oil companies support them? because they know we can never fully rely on them. GO NUCLEAR POWER!

harpolian (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
greenpeace is all fluff and show. They haven't done anything remarkable since they kicked out one of it's founders Paul Watson. He actually has the resolve and determination to make real changes happen.

uranium, which is remarked as highly dangerous, is used in nuclear power plant. copper which is used to build wind turbines are totally safe and cheaper. so what would you choose?? easy eh
mkarnerfors (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Becuase there is no such thing as a "truly renewable power source". *Every* powersource remands consumable resources when seen in a life-cycle perspective. Wind power for instance consumes 50 mg of copper per kWh, when looking at the entire service life of a wind turbine. While this may not sound like much, this means that 1 TWh consumes 50 tons(!) of copper. Solar power even more so. It's bullshit to say that there are "truly renewable" sources of power becasue ALL of them consume resources.
lgoopio (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Why the hll stand up for nuclear energy? Nuclear energy undermines the solutions to climate change by diverting urgently needed resources away from the true renewable and energy efficiency solutions. And now you are blaming Greenpeace who are promoting wind power technology
