This is a tribute to Joe Zawinul, one of the giants of modern jazz keyboards, who sadly died on 11th September 2007, aged 75. This is probably his most famous composition, which was featured on Weather Report's seminal 1977 album 'Heavy Weather'. Goodbye Joe, your music lives on......

I was pretty much the only dude in my school to have have any of their stuff (1970s). Course I had Alphonse Mouzon, Johnny Watson etc. too. Anyway WP's held up damned well! Quite an allstar list of players they went through! I've seen Boney and he's a blast live. For all you snobs give him a shot live before writing him off. I got drug to Kenny G. several years ago by then-girlfriend, not so much... He did better work backing up others.

I saw Weather Report in Omaha, NE in 1976, unequivocally the BEST live performance I've ever witnessed! Zawinul was a visionary and the way he incorporated the sounds of the world, which were his life experience, was truly extraordinary! Flanman...Rapid City, SD

I just heard me some Boney James and I hated it! His type of music right along with Kenny G. just doesn't do it for me. Maybe i'm just getting old. No disrespect to kenny and Boney lovers out there.
