honestly the minute i here the phrase "emo" i think of songs about cutting yourself.i know thats probably a bad opinion but i think it's true so fuck it.the only band i honestly feel safe classifying as straight up emo is hawthorn heights and in their most famous song (ohio is for lovers) there's a reference to cutting.maybe that has something to do with it butidk or maybe it's just cuz they're a really bad bandbut basically bright eyes is NOT emo. and mtv sucks floppy corporate donkey dick

don't worry about it guys MTV classifies everything that is indie as emothey've done it to bright eyes, death cab and even kate nash.I don't understand it but MTV has never been that good of a station for music- well, actually they've never been that good of a station in general.

i think if your emo/emotional its a compliment idk why some people take it negativly as an offense. but i dont agree that there emo its just like a punk rock its good stuff but bright eyes is indie no doubt
