His ideas are timeless because freedom is timeless. People who argue against free markets usually ultimately find themselves arguing against freedom in general.

Laissez-Faire exists in theory only, it has never been implemented anywhere in the world at any time at least not since nation states have existed. The only way laissez-faire trade could possibly exist is in the enviroment of the absence of nation states, and I don't think I want to go there. Do you support an all powerful,Global, European based Fed, because in light of the recent G20 meeting thats what we are about to get?

Anyone who actually believes that the financial systems are free markets; I have a bridge I want to sell them

Anyone who still believes unregulated free markets is in the U.S. interest; I have a bridge I want to sell them.

we have a chance now to rebuild the republican party after their defeat. We can make it more friedman in nature if we band together. If we true "liberals" want to get things done we have to first organize like the idiots on the left with their blogs and the fools on the far right with their churches. Then, we can have greater effect in persuading the moderates to our cause.

I agree, Bush ran as a conservative, yet government expanded under him and it will expand further under Obama, which is riduculous. These politicians need to hold the line and return the wealth to the people where it will be used to enhance economic growth and create a better standard of living.

forget the conservatives already. These guys have done more damage to "free markets" then the "liberals". They speak "free markets" but they practice "socialism" and "fascism". The "conservetives" don't even undertand "free markets", they always seem to apologize for it. It's better to acknowledge what they are: Fascists and Socialists! I don't want them to damage the rep of Capitalism anymore. We need freedom! freedom from government coercion, free markets and Individual Rights!
