This song is awesome! It's the only song of his I've heard, and my favorite of his. Listen to the trumpet sounds as well as the killer drums in this song. That drumline is absolutely killer! I see no reason how you can hate this unless you're just not a fan of music (let alone jazz).

Not sure everything was so great with audiences back in those days Remember this festival happened only a few months after AltamontIf the film of the concert was anything to go by this audience took few prisnors Kris Kristofferson walked off stage after being booed Hendrix showed his frustration with the fans when all they wanted was old matirial and Joni Mitchell was reduced to tears when a fan invaded the stage in the middle of her actTo say the least for Miles to play this set was brave

You know that Miles had been playing "free form jazz" for at least two years before this concert. It's not that they were simply going nuts without having any clue of what was about to happen in front of the crowd. The delivered an astounding and unforgettable experience to those thousands of lucky bastards!

marvelous...intense...powerful...man, those were cool days. Another level of musicianship. Another attitude, different times, different dreams...Now it's all about idiots. Now people get excited and happy if their favorite stupid mediocre singer spits at them after leaving rehab. There is no more music. It's about getting stoned and going to the next party to meet the rest of the ultra-morons.

I wonder if the writers of the film Spinal Taps famous "Jazz Odyssey" scene had something like this in mind when they wrote it.You can imagine Miles band saying to him before they went on "Ok Miles, so you think playing a free form jazz jam in front of two hundred thousand stoned hippies will go down a storm yeah?"
