Ghost in the shell had too much philophsifical meaning that I found it boring.

of course, the visual effects are important (they even were very influential on anime), but they still could have brought more of the human/cyborg problem. one doesn't exclude the other. ghost in the shell handled it greatly.

Without all the visual effects we wouldnt be transported to the universe of blade runner. And besides, some novels are too literal to be translated to screen to the letter.

ok. it's just that after first watching the movie and then reading the book, there are quite a few philosophical aspects i'd like to see in the film as well. i think it's a pity that the movie focuses on the visual effects.

The movie is less of an adaptation than a visual testiment to the themes of the novel. Phillip K. Dick saw some footage before he died and he said the same thing (along those lines).

This trailer is too fast for my liking. Probally to appeal to a younger audience who hasn't seen the film. They also should have used Vangelis' music instead. Other pretty good official trailer.

I LOVE the final cut but this trailer doesn't do it justice. That music from 'The Fountain' doesn't belong in the Blade Runner universe and the whole thing seems to have been edited by a man with ADD, probably to make this film more appealing to other people with ADD. Yuck.
