Haha, no need to trounce around with your elitist definitions. I already explained that I'm calling it "progressive metal," of which it absolutely is. But we generally refer to it in short hand as "prog" (though still indicating the full label.) This is the label that has been collectively assigned to it, and I'm sorry you are defensive and offended over it. I also mentioned it was "characterized" by time sigs/melodies, but it wasn't all inclusive. Your counter-examples are irrelevant.

Clearly, you're just one of those kids who think you have any idea what progressive means. Just because Ricardo Broschi wrote classical music with odd time signatures and "evolving" melodies, is it prog? NO!...Progressive music progress, otherwise it isn't! If you say Andromeda - In the End is prog metal than I know I'm just wasting my time with somebody that lacks knowledge and probably is to young to know.

Dude, you're out of your league here. I respect that you're keeping to the more classic form of prog, probably referring to bands like Yes or Genesis. Maybe it's more technically correct to label Andromeda as "progressive metal." But in shorthand, most just say "prog," which is characterized by odd time signatures and evolving melodies. Simply "metal" is far too vague, and power metal is maybe one of the more related genres, but is a terrible description of this musical style. It's prog (metal).

Can you tell me how old am I? Im probably older than u. And if thats not the case, you act like a foolish little kid. If u are so stupid to say that Andromeda isnt prog....then you should stay listening to hip hop and similar crap.

haha man you're almost the most pathetic clueless baby boy ever! You weren't even born when prog was at it's peak and you obviously have no clue what the genre prog IS. In your silly little mindframe, just playing some odd time signs would be enough for you to call it prog metal. Haha pathetic little child...

Hold on, I hadn't listened to this song when I replied to you just now. THIS song is actually pretty progressive but it's the first song with Andromeda that I've heard to be actual prog! I've listened to pretty much every other Andromeda song on YouTube and this is the only one that would be categorized as prog. So what I said before does not apply to this song. If you were merely talking about this song, then you would be correct.

Metal/Power metal. The genre "Prog. metal" has been tossed around a lot the past years. The bands who formed this genre were often very talented musicians who wanted to try new stuff N "forbidden" which wasn't just playing in odd time signatures, that has been done for centuries N more so it's not a prog-association. What is prog-associated is songs that evolve constantly moving from genre to genre/feel/tempo/mood/etc with often lengthy songs N solos. None of the above are found in this music.

alright then what would you call this? And what does the word progressive means to you?....... I mean.......what else would you call this band except prog?.....Odd Time signatures, modes and everything else are all commonly used in prog.... which they do.......so?
