you can chose any browser as your standard browser.. and belive me, they will all help you to do so :) (there is usually an alert telling you if a browers is not standard)

Fast JavaScript and HTML 5.0, now there's a 'killer' combination. I also would suggest a web browser that is expandable (growable?). We can add components much like COM objects in that is persistent or semi persistent on the client machine. Very much like Java applet cache. Many websites that share the same features (like blog engines, application frameworks) would be able to use the same components without the need to download them separately.
