Pororoca: Surfing on the Amazon
Penetrate deep into the delta of the Amazon with a handful of world class surfers as they come face to face with the exceptional natural spectacle called Pororocca, a series of tidal waves that form hundreds of miles off the coast. This rare and feared phenomenon that happens only under certain climatic conditions, always under a full moon, crashes up the Amazon River wreaking havoc on the shores and among the locals. They surf it!

Official world record longest continuous surf on one wave was on one of the tributaries of the amazon in 06, by Serginho Laus. Steve King's ride on the Severn a month later wasn't accredited as a record. That was about 7.5 miles. Unofficially, several longer rides have been done on the Severn, various different amazonian Pororoca, and on the Quiantang silver dragon in China. That last one is the biggest and the longest. It's a matter of time before someone like Serginho sets a new record there.

What a massive bore wave, this one puts the Severn bore to shame!! Longest wave ever ridden was on the Severn though, guess you'd have to get to know that wave a whole lot better to break that record!!
