You also play with a zone defense. To me that says that the players in the Euroleague aren't athletic enough to play defense man to man.

Well in his first game Gallinari played six minutes, he took two shots from the field and missed them both. Not exactly an auspicious start.

He's "the best player" who's already out with a back injury. Not a good start. If he doesn't prove himself fans and media will run him out of town in the proverbial New York Minute. And it has nothing to do with him being European.
