FINALLY... A couple of weeks ago this song came on the radio and it was driving me nuts trying to remember who did it, and I just now stumbled on this video by chance... now I know.

BANDITOS! Oh my GOd, probably the gratest song I have ever heard...and I'm 39. Anyways, The Refreshments disbanded, but the lead singer and the drummer formed Roger CLyne and The Peacemakers. What followed from that is another litany of awesome songs. If you haven't heard any of them, go check-out "Sonora Hope and Madness" and "Americano" (both albums). Leaky Little Boat, Buffalo, Switchblade, Little Hungover You, etc. etc. etc. The list of greats just go on and on.....

I was just starting high school when this song came out. It's been one of my favorites ever since, but I've always been aggravated by the fact that I've never heard the title or artist mentioned on the radio....Long live Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the United Federation of Planets!

The Refreshments are one of my favorite bands. If you llike them, check out Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. It's the singer and drummer from The Refreshments. Great music.

Imagine this! 8 American soldiers getting ready to go out on patrol. And before they do, the squadleader gathers them in a circle for prayer. Then, starts this song in the CD player! All of the men jump in together as they sing the words to this song! And when it's done, they look at each other, and the squadleader say, MOUNT UP! Sounds silly! But it always motivated us to get the job done, take care of each other, and SURVIVE! Right fellas? HOOAH!

I was at the Lion's Lair bar in Denver in Febuary 1996 for the cd release party that included this song. What a rockin' concert that was!!! Oh, the memories...
