I think I know what you mean. I'm not christian, but I love DEE's music and lyrics. Several of my favorite musicians are atheist, which I'm also not, but I still connect with their art. To me that's the main thing. If you're hesitant about listening to more of DEE's stuff, I'd suggest ignoring the labels. As you may or may not know, 2 of DEE's biggest pop influences (Joy Division and Gun Club) weren't christian either. Different points of view can be a good thing. Just my thoughts...
