I used to listen to this many years ago when it was on the radio, during the Vietnam War...I always felt so sad listening to it, thinking of the war. 40 years later, nothing has changed except the war is now in Iraq. When will we ever learn?

I remember this from 1968 or 1969. I remember, tThis wasn't a hit in the UK -- I think it did a bit better in the US what with the Vietnam war being on. I think it's problem was it was too long and in those days radio DJs just played short records. A great song though.
