I think you got the question back to front. The question has more to do with why singing in a foreign tongue should be considered weird. I don't think it's weird. In a globalized world, it's much more reasonable to assume that interchange of world's population will occur. That includes showing interest in other cultures, languages and other various activities which may involve singing or even moving abroad. Unless you belong to the narrow minded Neo-conservatism of course.

I saw one of your vids a few years and thought you were great, now my japanese friend says you are kind of popular now. Thats amazing, you have tons of talent. I hope to do something with the music industry too so...お互いにがんばろうね本当に、歌声びっくりするほどきれいだ。
