To cotinue:The dances in the clip are NOT a geerewol dance (red face paint), but yaake dance (yellow face paint).A geerewol is a very specific gathering, where a delegation from one clan 'attacks' a campsite from another clan. Then during one week as many relatives as possible join both sides, after which they have one week of dancing. It's ritualized war.There is no such thing as THE geerewol. In bad years there's none at all, in good years (like in the automn of 2007) there are several.

Let's put things straight here:'Wear dresses' doesn't mean they put on women's clothes: they just wear the traditional long robes, not considered female at all.'Put on make-up' is not 'acting female' either. No Bodaado (sing.) woman would ever put on THAT kind of make-up, it's specific for the men's dance.
