KJ is one of my favourite jazz musicians of all time. But I must say that he is one strange dude. Twice I've seen him play, both in Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall, and twice he's managed to suck the life out of the room with J-Lo-esque tantrums. Man, for a guy with a 165IQ, you would think he would have discovered pot and learned to chill the fuck out already. He needs to get with the 21st century and realize that it's a networked world and be flattered that he is being documented for posterity.

"Naive hippy-country garbage" ? lol !! Speaking of naive, I remember I let a cat talk me into trading my first (fav) Stevie Wonder album "Inner Visions" for the Koln concert. He made a convincing case and I took the bate. I figured I'd worn the grooves on the Stevie side and the Koln was a double lp. More bang for the buck? I think not. It's my least favorite KJ. I force listened, ate sprouts... needed a steak. I like the flow tho. If it's really all improvised, it's a credit to hippydum. :)

Just one more thing... Keith Jarrett is no doubt one of the all time greats. He brings jazz to an interactive peak. When I listen without the self righteous indignation about this and other such reports, I hear a very confident and passionate genius at work. I have a 10th of his opportunities and work very hard at essentially the same process. It ain't easy. He's gained recognition for being consistently excellent. In this respect, he is a trailblazer. Time to make critical distinction. He bad
