We are talking of the origin of the word. What I am saying is that it is based on the myth that Sappho was a woman who preferred women. The origination of the word comes from a myth based on a modern preconception from one woman's poem writing style. You do realise that there are male Lesbians, which does seem odd considering the way we see the term now.
