For the first time, John plays a very physical, emotionally demanding role, a break that is said to most likely bring him his first acting award. Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista is sure one tough cookie. The country's recent pride in the field boxing, he has proven himself locally and even abroad, bringing honor to the Philippines. However, most people aren't aware that success didn't come easy for this Bohol native. Growing up poor in Candijay, Bohol, young Boom Boom almost never had a chance at formal education, had he not try his hand at boxing when he was 12. Of course, immersing oneself to such a sport requires hours of rigid training, something which Boom Boom invested on.
