Its is not important! But what is important i to seek for a autentic teacher and place. Spend some time on the internet and make a deep research. Then contact a teacher. But most important, ask your self: How much do I want this. Its a life-serious thing. I wish you the best og hope that you act on it. "ACTA NON VERBA"

I am 16 years old and I want to be a monk, but i dont know if a soto zen monk or a tibetan gelug monk!

Yes! In Soto Zen, men and women are equival and there are monasteries seperatly for women in Japan. In europe example, the monastaries are for both women and men. Both women and men has the same way to follow and can become monk/nune, priest and teacher. Gassho and dharma love, Michael
