It is the fact and I have to say it, this song is among the songs that I will arrange it hopefully in the close future, I've done many to Muhammad Abdel-Wahab, please watch three of them on my site, Love,Ahmad Al-Jawadi

This is a truly great addition to music out of the M. East & N. Africa here on YouTube. Thanks Meenahnah. It's a definite WOW all right! Thanks too Alvinory re: your info about Darwish as stated. Darwish was the progenitor of a new kind of third stream music that would stream through the Arabic-speaking world fusing what he found existent in Cairo & Damascus with western music streaming out of the 19th Century and his end product will continue to stream down through the ages forever more.

His influence is far beyond the Arab World. His trade mark melodies and runs have been copied worldwide including that great surf Anthem " Misirlou"(Greek for EgyptianGir)which I believe stolen from his "BINT Misr"(Arabic for Egyptian Girl)or similar to this one.Whatever, his copyrights as a composer were never protected which was an open invitation for the many nonEgyptian musicians living there(Greeks,Ottomans)to help themselves to his songs,Melodies and arrangements.does anyone have more info?

I heard of this musician before or read about him and very much appreciate your soulful and profound choice of song and posting his biographical sketch. Wonderfully informative and a little melancholy not only because he's not that well-celebrated when he should be but also because of the sadness of the song. Thanks!!
