I did Karate for years and I've been doing Thai boxing and you definitely get some more power when you drop the hand, even though I can do both ways well. Even though you've dropped the lead hand the rear hand should automatically come up across to protect the face.

Okey silk432 Maybe you are right i donno. I have just trained at one gym ( Sinbi muay thai)There they say that i have to protect my head with one hand while i kick. It works for me. So i just do like they tell me and if thats wrong i must say that if you make that "misstake" it can save you under a match/fight. Where do you train anyway Silk432 ?

Thank you thaibox78. I didnt mean to be harsh.i appolagize.i give anybody credit who has the balls to train Muay Thai.and sticks with it! I just get sick of all these wannabe halfass kids who think they know there shit and put down every video by tryin to sound inteligant and saying the vid is wrong. i'm sure there are vids that give false info, but right here right now..this vid is correct. if u still think i'm wrong by droppin the arm do a image search for MT kicks and see for urself

alright..iv been a Muay Thai coach for almost 10 years now..my brothers are both coaches and over the years we have all won and fought in numerous Thai fights/MMA fights..I'm gunna way in on this disagreement between Silk432 & Muaythaideeteesot..Silk432 is 100% correct..that is how you throw a legit kick..if thrown right, you should be leaning back enough to where ur out of danger..BUT, if there short inside kicks..its smart to defend the head. I think Silk432 was a little to harsh though. -Tom

Where do you train @ Pat Morita's School of Hardknocks..WATCH ANY MUAY THAI FIGHT BRO..THE ARM DROPS!! If your School in Thailand has heard of DVD players..I dunno..maby you guys could rent some video's on how to throw a kick.

no fucking duh kennlimbhsss. note the title of the video: "Muay Thai training- KICKS" so i would think he's showing people how to... uh i duno... kick?!?!
