Okey so everybody is feeling that Linus Thorvalds is an arrogant basterd. I think you should take his opinions less personal. He has strong opinions, and rightfully so. He is a very good engineer. His personality does not even a matter he is one of the great protagonists in software. Also I think he's right making very good points eventhough it's not in a nice way.

you're jealous.

No, you're saying that you are assigning the Linus Torvalds variable to be equal to the God variable.Linus Torvalds == "God";

If Linux played games natively (Source is all I need) then I would 100% switch.

few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand(SORRY BUT THIS SPAM REALLY FREAKS ME)

Linus has only experiences with cvs and bitkeeper - not much for that buiness.All his "bad examples" are against cvs and svn. Maybe in this case he is right, he does not know anything about Perforce.But the main problem at his argumentation is the mixture of branches and distributed scm systems. These are really two different things!Example: All he argues for "distributed branches" is possible with perforce!And Linus you disapointed as priggish person :(

It's very interesting how so many people are involved in coding yet are so disconnected.Linus sees the Fault in Centralized Branching systems for what they are.I like how he develops branching systems in a human way, so that we can bounce ideas off of one another and flexibly translate that into fixes for coding errors and anomalies.
