18.06.2008Ein Helikopter des Typ Ecureuil der Firma Heli-Swiss ist heute um 16:48 Uhr auf dem AirportGrenchen beim Anflug auf eine Landeplattform verunfallt (seitlich der Landeplattform abgerutscht).Der Helikopter drehte sich um die eigene Achse und kam seitlich liegend zum Stillstand. What a load of crap about dynamic rollover or clutch failure.. He caught the skid..How cna it be rollover it the ship is down? He pull sit back up and hooks the skid..

There is a good shot of the towable platform the pilot was trying to land on at 01:41 right behind the PC-12.

It's called 'dynamic rollover' and it causes a fair number of helicopter crashes every year. The pilot made two errors - firstly he slid off the edge of the landing platform and the heel of the right skid got hooked underneath it. The pilot should have shut down there but he tried to take off again. The helicopter pivoted around the stuck skid that was that. It happens very fast. There's a video on YouTube of a USMC CH-46 doing a similar thing on a ship.

how does this work.. i dont get why he just cut the power. or someting or did he just though it wasnt parked right?

You're right. He mustn't have been accustomed to landing/taking off from slopes. Looks like he bounced off the concrete when he landed the first time. A bad way to end an AS350's life.
