He voted no on a constitutional ban on flag desecration. He voted no on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. He voted yes on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. He voted no on banning affirmative action hiring with federal funds. He voted yes on allowing illegals to participate in Social Security.His poor health does not excuse him for what he has done to our country.

cdp1188, it is unfortunate that you are letting politics overtake common sense and common decency. Situations of life and death always take precedence over politics. Notice it is not only Democrats standing and applauding. The entire Senate is standing and applauding, Republicans included.

I find it very sad that apparently children are raised to believe that harboring so much hatred or that there are people who are capable of so much hatred. I guess an older woman like myself never made it out of the teachings around me as I was growing up to listen and weigh all sides. In spite of the hate mail I have received, I will continue to wish a fellow chemo patient good luck. It is hard for those not suffering the devastation chemo and cancer does to your body until you experience it
