Indian Boarding Schools - Native American Cherokee Carlisle

"Our Spirits Don't speak English: Indian Boarding School" is a Native American perspective on Indian Boarding Schools. This DVD produced by richheape.com uncovers the dark history of U.S. Government policy which took Indian children from thier homes, forced them into boarding schools and enacted a policy of educating them in the ways of Western Society. This DVD gives a voice to the countless Indian children forced through a system designed to strip them of their Native American culture, heritage and traditions.

i dont like any kind of war, and the worst of them all was the white man fighting against innocent indians. i dont get it, why couldn't they just leave them alone, the indians lived their way and wanted to live in peace, but the white man came and ruined their lives.i will always respect indians!

It is too sad to see a man crying for what he had endured when he was child, even after all those years. There is no words to say...just listen and cry with him and pray that such a things never will happen again.!! Indians, all Indians of the Americas, be proud of your heritage and keep on fighting for your rights and keep your head up high goin' forward on the Red Path.!

They did this to my grandmother and because of it I don't know which tribe I belong to. I am really angry because of this.

** correction, Marty SD is where she was forced to go. My Great grandmother from my dad's side went to Rosebud.

Wow. My Grandmother went to a boarding school in Rosebud South Dakota. I see why she would never talk to her children about her experiance. This was so uncalled for, your right about what you say in this video.-Sasha
