Absolutely the best with Harry Dean Stanton chuggin from a gallon jug. Ry Cooder is the master of his domain.

The best musical opening sequence of a film EVER.

First of all, I hope the rest of this film correctly portrays Paris, TX. Because Paris is in the North Texas plains, north of Dallas. Not in the West Texas desert. Paris is nothing special at all. It should've been like...Van Horn, Texas.

This movie was the motivation of an old Australian to land in L.A.,buy a cheap used huffy bicycle and head out to see Paris Texas. An employ at a bicycle shop about 60 miles away felt bad for the guy riding such a crap bike and overhauled it for him at no charge. He got a letter of thanks from the guy telling all about his adventure, when he got back home.

Texas is a wonderful, lush land... in the east.
