BMW F1 Nurburgring Nordschleife Nick Heidfeld [FULL ONBOARD]
BMW F1 Nurburgring Nordschleife - Nick Heidfeld onboard video (note: video is mixed footage of all 3 laps)Nick Heidfeld made 3 demo laps in a BMW F1 at the old Nurburgring circuit in Germany. The 24,433 km variant was used: Nordschleife + GP Strecke: Mercedesarena/kurtzambindung (not the full GP track).Laptimes were 8.12 , 8.30 , 7.29 (new record)previous record was 8.06 (Jurgen Alzen, 11-6-2005)Note: this CANNOT be compared to the old records of Lauda and Bellof, the track is now a different length. Also did Heidfeld slow down at the 2 main straights, for fotoshooting. The car was modified with short gears, allowing only a topspeed of 275 km/h. They also used Brigestone Demo tires, these "have no grip", according to Heidfeld.

Beeindruckend! Schade das Nick nicht ernst gemacht hat, hätte mich mal interessiert was für eine Rundenzeit dabei rausgekommen wäre.

Good job Hr. "Quick Nick".Sadly, the only pilot left out there who knows how to overtake without having to rely on 100% car or tire condition supremacy. And he does it so well that he overtakes not only but TWO at the same time (Malaysia, Silverstone, etc...)Poor Alonso knows also that quick nick is very hard to overtake:)And if he didn't have to make place for Kubica at Montreal (heiki knows also what am talking about) he could have won already his GP.I hope BMW will keep him.

brucerobert - no not taken as rude at all! I'm glad you corrected me; for some reason I'm always thinking Bergwerk is sooner than it really is. Will take you up on that beer :)

roswell, Hope i did not sound rude. Lauda links.....I dont really allow my self to think about that corner because the footage of accident scares me! There was nothing he could of done to know or stop it, so i never think about it. I know where it is, but dont know where it is, if that makes sense! It is an amazing place and always feels like a priviledge to be there. If you make it over lets have a beer!

Ok I see; the Lauda left is shown in the aerial shot at 2:54. Sorry about that.. Someday I hope to visit Germany and see it in person. I envy you getting to go around that place :)

Roswell, 1.09 is Schwedenkreuz. Still one of the most dangerous bits of the circuit but its not the Lauda links. I saw a big crash there 2 weeks ago and I have nearly come off twice there. The hard right hander after it is Aremberg. Bergwerk in the video is apexed at 3.00.

The ancient Nurburgring was fantastic. You had to drive 22 km!! The new circuit is only the 15% of this...I saw any pictures of Carlos Reutemann here, in 1975, when he won.Obviously, this full onboard with Nick is fantastic. Great video!!

if you were to go back and look at the F1 season so far on the tracks driven by 08 cars. they care consistently a few seconds slower than cars made previous to 2005. i don't think the aero package has nullified the handicap that a weaker engine, no TC, and no Launch controll has given it yet
