Quit Smoking Advice

These clips are from the BBC: Horizon documentary series entitled "We Love Cigarettes". The advice Allen Carr gives is pretty damn good, it convinced me (a 5 year smoker) to quit cold turkey. It has been a couple months now and I'm still going strong.Update: It has been over one year since my last cigarette and I have never been tempted to look back. I really hope this simple advice has helped someone else.

I do agree with u about that their are huge withdrawls but its all about how u handle them.

No withdrawals, this guys is FULL OF SHIT

Correct, these idiots make it sound like there are no physical withdrawals? Bullshit. Try 3-5 nights of itchy bones, leg tremmors, sweating and no sleep. Thank god for drugs though. There some good info, but this method is highly over rated I think.

I have his movie. I don't know why it doesn't seem to do much for me as far as getting it. I'm on hour 17 of not smoking. I feel like tearing someones frign skin off their face. Me coming off heroin = equivilent of someone coming off crystal meth. Very angry right now.

I just put out my last cigarette!!! I have been trying to quit for years now but after watching this video I have no desire to smoke I feel completly different about smoking already. The part about it making stress and bordom and concentration worse is the part that really got to me. Thank you so much for the gret advice.

Quit smoking on December 18th, 2007, all because I watched this video, which got me interested in his book, which showed me that smoking addiction is a mental addiction, not physical. I've learned so much about the power of your mind since then, and have lost 40 lbs and ran my first 10k. You have nothing to lose -- if you WANT to quit, read his book.

I used smokeless tobacco to quit. First I had to quit the smoking habit without worrying about nicotine withdrawal. Then I concentrated on the nicotine addiction once I got used to not smoking. I was done with nicotine within a year, for good.

as what the below poster said about the cravings...they are real, i too have read the book and have successfully quit on the spot. The cravings are real...but once you realize your not giving up "anything" those cravings can be easily defeated.
